Our Wooden Bicycle Storage Shed is a multipurpose unit that can be used for all types of storage. The sloped or 'lean to' roof allows water run off preventing leaks. This shed is typically used for storing bikes, but it is also a convienent storage unit for garden equipment, sports gear, or many household items.  

Unlike a metal or steel shed our heavy duty timber bike shed will not cause condensation, which is a very important consideration when storing bikes and other equipment. The double doors make it simple and easy to access equipment. For extra security on our bike sheds, we bolt on the hinges and padbolt. Timber sheds allow for great customisation inside, you can add hooks, shelving etc. to suit your needs. We can build in custom shelving as required.

  • Tongued and grooved floor and roof, 22mm thick boards.
  • All roofs are felted with super green mineral felt.
  • Sides made with 125mm x 22mm log pine boards, pressure treated.
  • Walls are lined with frame shield which guards against wind, driven rain, snow and dust.
  • Framing: 50mm x 35mm. Door framing:75mm x 35mm.
  • Assembled with coated Ring Shank Nails.

Pressure Treated Timber is treated with a preservative which provides an effective barrier against insects & fungal decay, extending it's lifespan. This process involves immersion in a high-pressure tank which quickly forces preservatives deep into the timber, helping it withstand future damage and exposure to the elements. 
This Bike Store has been expertly designed to withstand the harsh elements of outdoor environments, making it the perfect storage solution for your garden tools, equipment, and other essentials. You can rest assured that your belongings will be safe and well-protected in any weather conditions.

Site Requirements & Recommendations

A clear and level site is essential for the construction of our bike sheds. Allow approximately 12"/30cm between new storage shed and any existing fence or wall. Access required: Side entrance with no overhead height restrictions or similar. If necessary please contact us for clarification. 

The vast majority of garden sheds sit on concrete blocks which are placed directly onto grass or soil which works great for the average bike shed. Please note that concrete blocks are included in the price of your shed. The blocks will keep the wood from touching the ground and will allow air to circulate under the shed. This option offers great advantages as it will save you the cost of constructing a concrete base and is more convenient if you need to relocate the shed in a few years time.

Unlike a metal or steel shed our heavy-duty timber bike shed will not cause condensation, which is a very important consideration when storing bikes and other equipment. Wood naturally provides insulation, which can help regulate the internal temperature of your shed. Timber is also the most environmentally friendly choice for your garden, and brings a soft, natural aesthetic to your outdoor space. Timber sheds are easily customised, you can add internal shelving and fixings, and paint the timber different colours.

How do I choose the right size for a Bike Storage Shed?

Consider the number of bikes you need to store and any additional items like helmets or bike accessories. We have designed our timber bike shed to a standard size of 2.1m (7ft) wide x 1.7m (5ft 6") high x 1m (3ft 3") deep. We found that this size suits the majority of our customers’ requirements, typically fitting 2-3 bikes. We wanted to keep the shed size neat so that it nicely slots into your front or back garden. Can you make Custom Bike Sheds?

Yes, all our Bike Sheds are manufactured in Ireland at our sawmill in the Dublin Mountains. In most cases, we can make your Bicycle Shed to your custom measurements, please email us your measurements and we will get back to you with a quote, sales@timbertrove.com

Do you install Outdoor Bike Sheds in Ireland?

We offer a supply and fit service for our Bike Sheds in the Greater Dublin Area so you don’t have to worry about assembling! Are Timber Bike Storage Sheds easy to assemble?

The assembly of our Bike Sheds is relatively easy if you have some basic DIY Skills! You will receive 6 panels, including the roof, floor, sides, front and back. The roof is pre felted. Click Here for Assembly Instructions. Once you have a clear and level site, the panels should sit nicely together and just need to be screwed together. How do I secure my Bike Shed?

We have designed our bike storage shed for optimal security. The door pad bolt and hinges are bolted on so they cannot be unscrewed or easily removed. We have extra security features which you can add on to your bike shed for maximum safety. We offer a steel security lock, an internal steel bar and an external security bar.

Are Bike Storage Sheds waterproof?

Yes a Timbertrove Bike Shed is waterproof, this is very important when storing your valuable bikes and equipment. We line our Storage Sheds with a membrane liner which protects against wind, driving rain, snow and dust. Our bicycle shed features a sloped roof to allow water to run off it, and we use the highest quality roofing felt to protect from the elements. Our sheds are excellent quality and are guaranteed for 5 years, with an expected lifespan of 15 - 20 years.

How do I maintain my Timber Bike Shed?

We use pressure treated timber for our Bike Sheds, meaning they are maintenance free. The timber has been treated with a preservative which provides an effective barrier against insects & fungal decay, extending it's lifespan. The beauty of timber is that you can paint it any colour you like, choose a colour that complements your property's aesthetic, any wood suitable paint will work. We recommend waiting 4 -6 weeks before painting your new shed, to ensure the wood has completely dried out and adjusted to its new surroundings, otherwise the paint may peel off.

Do I need planning permission for a Bike Shed?

No, our bike sheds are a small, neat size which do not require planning permission in Ireland. Overall height is approximately 5 feet or 1.5 meters.
