The sloped or 'lean to' roof allows water run off preventing leaks. This shed is typically used for storing bikes, but it is also a convienent storage unit for garden equipment, sports gear, or many household items. Unlike a metal or steel shed our heavy duty timber bike shed will not cause condensation, which is a very important consideration when storing bikes and other equipment. The double doors make it simple and easy to access equipment. For extra security on our bike sheds, we bolt on the hinges and padbolt. Timber sheds allow for great customisation inside, you can add hooks, shelving etc. to suit your needs. We can build in custom shelving as required. Specifications Our Outdoor Bike shed is made from the highest quality specially selected pine. Pressure treated timber. Tongued and grooved floor and roof, 22mm thick boards. All roofs are felted with super green mineral felt. Sides made with 125mm x 22mm log pine boards, pressure treated. Walls are lined with frame shield which guards against wind, driven rain, snow and dust. Framing: 50mm x 35mm. Door framing:75mm x 35mm. Assembled with coated Ring Shank Nails. Galvanised hinges and pad bolt, bolted on for extra security. Skirting fitted to all our bike store to hide 4inch (100mm) solid blocks which are supplied. Top quality before and after sales service. Site Requirements & Recommendations A clear and level site is essential for the construction of our bike sheds. Allow approximately 12"/30cm between new storage shed and any existing fence or wall. Access required: Side entrance with no overhead height restrictions or similar. If necessary please contact us for clarification. The vast majority of garden sheds sit on concrete blocks which are placed directly onto grass or soil which works great for the average bike shed. Please note that concrete blocks are included in the price of your shed. The blocks will keep the wood from touching the ground and will allow air to circulate under the shed. This option offers great advantages as it will save you the cost of constructing a concrete base and is more convenient if you need to relocate the shed in a few years time. The beauty of timber is that you can paint it any colour you like, choose a colour that complements your property's aesthetic, any wood suitable paint will work. We recommend waiting 4 -6 weeks before painting your new shed, to ensure the wood has completely dried out and adjusted to its new surroundings, otherwise the paint may peel off.
