Timbertrove storage units are designed to keep your firewood dry, organised, and easily accessible. Our high-quality outdoor log storage units are designed to meet your needs while enhancing the aesthetics of your outdoor space. Here are some considerations to think about when purchasing an outdoor timber log storage unit:
Design
Choose a design that suits your outdoor space and aesthetic preferences. We have a standard sloped roof log storage unit, and we have a contemporary Apex style log storage hut.
Material
Timber is the optimal choice for log storage units because it's sturdy and can withstand outdoor conditions. We use pressure treated pine to manufacture our firewood storage units as this timber has been treated to resist against decay and insects. Its maintenance free and built to last.
Size
Determine the size of your storage unit based on the amount of firewood you need to store. It should be large enough to hold a sufficient supply but not so large that it overwhelms your outdoor area. We offer two standards sizes, but we can also custom make a Log Store Unit to suit your specific requirements.

Location
Choose a suitable location that is convenient for accessing the firewood but also protects it from excessive moisture. A slightly elevated, well-drained area is ideal.
Proper Ventilation
Our log storage units have been designed with ventilation in mind. The evenly spaced timber ensures proper ventilation and allows air circulation around the logs. This helps in drying out any moisture and preventing mould or rot.
Weather Protection - Roof & Cover
Timbertrove Firewood Storage Units have a sturdy felt roof with an overhang to ensure your logs are kept covered during rain and snow. The roof is sloped to encourage water runoff. We also offer a PVC cover as an optional extra to protect the logs from any driving rain in windy conditions.
Low Maintenance Storage Solutions
Timbertrove storage units are built to last with minimal maintenance. We use pressure treated timber which means these units have been treated against rot and decay and are suitable for outdoor use. Browse our range of storage solutions here.
Is it ok to Store Firewood Outside?
Properly stored firewood can be kept outdoors without issues. We have considered the following when designing our Firewood Storage units to ensure the logs are kept dry.
1. Elevate the Wood: We keep firewood off the ground by using a strong base in our storage units. This helps prevent moisture absorption from the soil and reduces the risk of pests.
2. Cover the Wood - We use sloped roof design to helps with water runoff and keeps the wood relatively dry. A PVC cover can be added for extra protection against driving rain in windy conditions.
3. Proper Air Circulation: Our Log Store unit has been designed to allow air to flow through the unit. Good air circulation is important to prevent mould.
